Hey all! We wanted to share that we are currently working on a solution for notifying users when social media integrations expire. Stay tuned - more details to come!

Social Media Disconnected Suggestion

When we try to post to LinkedIn and the connection is in an error status, it should really alert us when we’re trying to post. Right now, we only notice if we happen to not see the post show up on social media and by then, the post is gone and we have to recreate it completely. Or at least save the unshared posts as “error” so we have the chance to report them when it’s working again.

Please create an alert when a social media integration needs to be reconnected. It is very frustrating to have to discover this for myself when it should be relatively easy for you to create this.

Add Warning to Social Tool when integrations are expired

Since the email notifications are not working to notify a user when their integration expires, it would be great to get that fixed or atleast create a notice in the dashboard for users when they sign in, use the social tool, or try to make any type of social post.

Error message for social media connections

If there was an error message for posts that were not shared to social media due to an expired connection to social media and not just deleted from the dashboard.

Social integration pausing the disconnect notifications

Todd Ihrig has the following feedback regarding our decision to pause the social media integration disconnected notifications:
"I cannot say that I am pleased with the decision, nor the process but at least we know where things stand. Frankly, I expect more from my vendors and hope that the Avantax team will have some detailed discussions about service levels, such as:
Notifying clients (us) when you decided to “pause” notifications (remember that I reviewed all emails from FMG and I received no such notification)
Asking clients (us) whether we think a “false positive” or no-notifications at all is a preferred stance (I would prefer an occasional wrong notification to none at all)
Your system can tell that LinkedIn is disconnected because it presents me with a “Renew Connection” button; I cannot fathom how it can do that with 100% accuracy and yet you cannot send accurate notification emails
No tracking/rescheduling of missed posts due to a broken connection (what happens when a sequence of events
No proactive notification of an upcoming expiration of the connection so the refresh can be scheduled/handled proactively"

If a notification can't be sent, it would at least be really helpful if there was an error banner that would pop up when the advisor tries to schedule a social post, making it a lot more easily recognizable inside the dashboard.

Jocelyn Royce 100% agree!

Please! Unless I click on 'manage social media' I have no clue when something is expired, and then my posts don't go through, which is very irritating.

This would be extremely helpful. I ran into this issue today and I am not overly impressed.
