Hi Ira and Tony -- I wanted to let you now that you can insert the following tokens
anywhere in an email
to pull in contact details: $Contact.FirstName$ >> First Name
$Contact.LastName$ >> Last Name
$Contact.Nickname$ >> Nickname
For now, these will have to be manually inserted (by typing, or copy/paste) into an email, but I hope to give you all an easier way to insert this token into your communications in the near future.
Hope that helps!

Ali Baldari: Great. Is this new? Also will inserting the nickname show then first name if there's no nickname? Or the other way around?

Tony Krvaric: brand new, yes!
Unfortunately, we don't have fallbacks in place for these tokens yet. If you add the "First Name" token, that's what we'll use in the email. If a contact doesn't have a first name in place, the token would be blank.
These are some of the wrinkles I'd like to iron out before making these tokens more visible in the email builder.

Ali Baldari: Thanks for the quick reply but without the fallback feature it's not very useful. Not all records have a nickname so it's really not very practical. Keep the communication going.

Agreed. This is basic stuff. Sigh...
