There really needs to be more reporting done by FMG on the content interactions on websites, email distribution, etc. preferably on a monthly basis. As of now, you need to either click on each piece to see who or how many opens it generated or click on a contact to see piece by piece whether they've opened something to them or not. Here's some ideas:
Monthly Report that shows metrics on each piece: how many clicks, how many opens, any forwards and who's opened, who's forwarded etc.
Contact reports: who's opened the most pieces in a month and what they've opened.
Reports by Subject Matter: what types of topics are getting the most views? What is being ignored?
Contact Historical Reports: Being able to see, clearly and easily, what types of content a contact opens (estate planning, college planning, etc), how often, and what they're ignoring
As it stands now, someone needs to go into each piece of content and manually scroll through to see who has clicked and opened. Or, they can open a single contact and then scroll through every single piece to see the same thing. there is no grouping based on subject matter and there is no easy to access report or database that gives a broad, macro look at an overall subject matter, campaign, etc.
The purpose of all of this is to start conversations. FMG has all the data, it should be easy to put together. If John Q. Contact keeps opening every piece we send out on estate planning and nothing else, I should be able to see that easily and could prompt a quick call to start the conversation. If I see that all of the pieces on Trust Planning are being opened, but no one opens any on Social Security, that could affect what is being sent out.
The only way to manage this system is manually and on a line by line item either by piece of content or by contact and is too cumbersome and time consuming. The technology is here to be able to send the firm the details on what is being viewed and by whom quickly without requiring a person to scan through everything line by line
